Meet Our Team

Victoria Kwater, LMSW

I am Victoria Kwater, the owner of Tri-County Mental Health. It has been my dream to create a place where individuals could seek mental health treatment in a calming, compassionate environment and are treated with the utmost respect. I wanted to create a place that focuses on wellness and self-care, not only for clients, but also for the staff here at TCMH.

In addition to managing Tri-County Mental Health, I also am a clinical social worker and have been treating individuals struggling with their mental health for over ten years. I have a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy. This means we look at how your thoughts and beliefs impact your emotions and subsequent actions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) then uses strategies to recognize and teach ways to challenge this process.

I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which is a treatment for individuals who have suffered trauma and are having symptoms of PTSD.

I am also certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (TF-CBT) for children who have experienced trauma and are having difficulty coping.

Lastly, I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, (DBT) for individuals who suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder.

I enjoy teaching people skills to better manage their thoughts, emotions, environments, and relationships to give them the courage to create happiness in their lives. I enjoy watching people grow throughout the therapeutic process and having the privilege of seeing people through difficult moments in life.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time being in nature. I enjoy hunting, fishing, boating, going for walks, and running. I am also a proud wife and mother. I believe as we strengthen ourselves, we strengthen our environment and it is my goal to facilitate others with finding this strength.

I am passionate about working with others to promote self-actualization, empower self-growth, improve relationships, improve mindfulness, and reduce emotional suffering.

Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root cause of your difficulties and build an authentic therapeutic relationship.

Nicole Micho,  LMSW

Hello! My name is Nicole and I am a mental health clinician with a passion for helping others.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2013. I started my career as a Case Manager, working in the community to advocate for individuals with severe mental health issues. For the past seven years, I have been providing therapy to people dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma and other mental health issues using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This type of therapy is highly effective for people who have experienced traumatic events, struggle with low self-esteem or have difficulty in regulating emotions. My ultimate goal is to give individuals the confidence to work through negative events they’ve experienced and focus on a brighter future.

When I am not working, I am spending time with my husband, our three year old son, and our dog, Cooper. We enjoy taking trips, spending time with our families and being outdoors.

Your voice is so important and my goal is to provide you a safe space where you can speak freely without judgment. As your therapist, I want to ensure you feel comfortable sharing your life experiences with me. When you start therapy, I will gather some background information that may be useful in your treatment. I will help you to prioritize your treatment goals and then develop specific steps on how they can be accomplished. We will then work as a team to identify your strengths, work through any barriers, and develop tools for you to use in your everyday life.

It takes strength to reach out for help and I am so happy you have taken the first step! Life can be overwhelming at times but you don’t have to face it alone. I look forward to working with you and appreciate you letting me be part of your journey!

Kayla Stoneburner, Office Administrator

Hello, my name is Kayla Stoneburner. I am the Office Administrator at TCMH and started working here in May 2021. I am also a Health Insurance Coding & Claims Specialist, who is working on getting nationally certified with my CPC (Certified Procedure Coder), as well as pursuing a degree in Business Management with Northwood University. I enjoy talking to new clients when they call to schedule their first appointment or learn more about the office. I also do my best to put people at ease when they come into the office by offering a beverage or snack along with a friendly smile. I understand this can be a scary experience and want to help make it as comfortable as possible for people. I enjoy seeing people at each appointment, even if it is just to say hello. I am also the person who will contact your insurance company on your behalf if any billing issues arise and will discuss collecting payment (if there is any) with you. I am always happy to help you coordinate with your therapist as well, whether scheduling issues arise or you have a message to pass along.

I have a strong passion for mental health and believe self-care is a way for you to take back the power in your life. It's okay to not be okay and it is okay to ask for help. I have learned the simple things sometimes just aren't that simple and I look forward to helping in any way I can with your journey.
